Case History: JetRotor™

Cement Milling in Small Diameter Casing Using Tempress JetRotor™ Tool

In this remedial job the Operator needed to remove cement from 12,525 ft. to 13,590 ft. prematurely set inside 3 1/2-in. casing.

A PDM and 2 7/8-in. mill were used ineffectively to drill out the cement leaving behind a sheath of cement.  The Operator called upon Tempress to utilize its 2 1/8-in. JetRotor™ jet milling tool configured with XL jets to remove the remaining cement. The tool was run over the 1,000 ft. interval three times with heavy returns of cement particles at surface.

A complete cleanup of the well was indicated by 300 ft. of cement debris in the bottom of the well. The entire job was completed in 11 hours.
