Oil States Energy Services (OSES) and the Tempress HydroPull™ was called upon once again to replace a competitive friction breaking tool that was unable to reach bottom due to insufficient power, leaving 4 plugs in the well. The competitive agitation device required the use of 2 gallon per 10 bbl. Ultra-lube and Beca-lube slugs every 50 bbl., yet lock-up still occurred.  OSES established a running weight at 13,880 ft. MD of 3,500 lbs. while running in the hole at 20 fpm, without lubricating chemicals.  The first plug was tagged at 14,478 ft. MD and drilled without any stalls with a running weight of 3,500 lbs. at a speed of 15 fpm.  The remaining 3 plugs were drilled at 14,722 ft., 14,491 ft., and 15,212 ft. MD.  A PBTD was tagged at 15,473 ft. MD with 4,000 lbs. running weight at a speed of 8 fpm.

The average wash time between plugs was 33 minutes and average plug mill times were 5 minutes each.  The Operator requested that OSES rig up on the second well on the pad and the HydroPull milled all plugs in a single run without incident.

Use of the HydroPull required only a fraction of the chemicals previously utilized by the competition, saving the Operator significant time and money.
